    Smoking 36\" TSL\'s

I nailed the gas for the first time w/ my new 36x12.5R15 TSL's just now. I thought that the trans was slipping but when I got home my friend that was fallowing me said that I smoked the tire and left a cloud of smoke at the stop light. And this is with a stock th350 and 3.73 gears! I am impressed with the power this thing has. What fun. The motor couldn't have much done to it because it still has the stock iron intake.
BTW the tires made no noise when they span.

Smoked "the tire"? [IMG] Time for a locker in that beast! [IMG]

Oh yeah, I had a '77 with 35's and then 36's that I used to light up quite frequently. Went through three 12-bolts in 3 years. [IMG]

Mine has 4.10s and a posi...even with this new 305 you've got to watch it around corners...it gets sideways easily, despite the 35" BFGs. I can't imagine what a 400 SBC would be like.

I think it's just the BFG's. I have 3.08s, POS 305 and 31 BFG MT's and I can bring the rearend around in corners. I couldn't do that with the old Dunlop Rovers I had on there before.

Yes we are still meating you and Burt up there. We are meating at around 3am a bit north of LA. I just finished trimming the fenders so I can actually turn. I F'ed one of the front sides up cuz I got in a hurry. Oh well.

Yeah...Time for a 14bolt FF with welded spiders (I cracked the center section of the 12bolt)

    Re: Smoking 36\" TSL\'s

When I had 3.08s and 31s with my old 305 I couldn't dream of spinning them, even with brake torquing.

With the new 305 with cam, intake, carb, and headers I have no problem smoking my 35s until my 700R4 decides it's done.

    Cool!

I can't wait to have new tires on the way and my "mighty mouse" broke in. There WILL be some documented tire shredding! [IMG]

    I've got a mind like a . . . a . . . what's that thing called?

I agree with aaaaggh. The last thing I would want to do is fry tires I just spent $200/a piece on...
