smooth shifting

    How do I make it so. Um manual in an 85 , more info on web page. It is a pretty tough job to shift, mostly first to second, can it be inporved?

    I'm not positive about this, but have heard this is because these trannys (3 speed with low range right) are not syncronized. Not sure what exactly that equates to, but think it has something to do with the hard/ rough shifting. My buddy has that tranny in his 86 1 ton, and I test drove 2 other 80's chevy trucks with it. They all shifted the same, kinda hard to get into gear, mainly the first to second gear shift. Maybe that helps, and please correct me if I'm wrong.
