What do you consider a good deal? I can get you a rebuilt one pretty cheap. Corvette input shaft and clutches, shaved valve bodies, shift kit, 2400 stall TQ, warrentied for as long as you own it. Right around $400

I have a rebuilt 400 for a late 205. 32 spline output with circular pattern 6 holes. I don't know if it will mate up, but 300 bucks and it is yours. Did I mention that it has not been installed since rebuilt?

Thanks for the offer on your K5 Rob. That is very nice of ya but I think I got the burb working for a little while. The tranny I got seems to shift nice and firm the only problem is it won't hold 1st gear when you down shift. It just coasts to a stop so I dont know if it is just a adjustment or if I will have them warranty this one out.I hope its just a adjustment because I really dont have time to be messing around with it now.If anybody has any idea what would cause this let me know. Thanks

hey doug the not holding first gear is common with a 400 turbo..a shift kit fixes it...but a stock 400 does that...it will also upshift from 1st to 2nd on its own even if you have it in low...shift kit fixes that also...i dont think theres anything wrong with it,perhaps give brent a call see what he thinks.. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

a stock unmodified 400 will upshift from 1st to 2nd on its own given enough rpms...and when it does it hits really hard...i believe its meant to keep a big block from over revving...and it wont go into low gear at speed it will wait till its goin kinda slow before it drops into low gear....

Leadfoot is right...mine does the 1-2 upshift, really sucks when using double low. Also if you have a bad or sticking governor it will cause the trans not to shift down into first. Give me a call and I can go over it with you on the phone (easier to explain.)
