They are calling for 2-4" acumulation in St.Louis on Sat. Not exactly a blizzard, but enough to have some fun.
Any body got any plans to go play in the white stuff? /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

A small group of us CCC members are planning a trail ride on Sunday @ Fulton.
Come along if you can.
We should meet up at the Fulton Walmart around 9am.

Todd,
I wish i could meet up with you guys, but it's finals week and i'm up to my nose in crap. It should be quite the time. Here in Columbia, we have anywhere between 5-7 inches of the white stuff hanging around. It just stopped snowing within the hour I beleive so it will be fresh for ya.

Re: Snow wheeling

Todd,
I just got back from some great snow wheeling at the Kansas Rocks 4x4 Park. I left at 6:30am this morning in 6" of snow with it still coming down. The 42's were flat spotted bad. It took nearly 1 hour of driving at a limited speed of 40 MPH to get them warmed up. Had to drive all the way to the park in 4WD. What should have taken only 1.5 hours took more like 2.5 hours. Only hit something like 3 trees and bent one bow on the soft-top. Hope you guys have a great time. Be carefull. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I made it back with my t-case still under the truck! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Many thanks to Neil , Todd and everybody else from the CCC for babysitting me today. I took my 3/4 longbed places it should never have gone with their help and guidance. I did crack my t-case adapter pretty good and got a few more dents but I had a blast. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll be back with 38"s and a front locker as soon as you guys will have me back!

I'll get my pics developed and try to post them here as soon as I can.

Thanks again guys for watchin out for the FNG. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: Snow wheeling

Just fixing what I broke for now. I've got a line on a couple adapters to trade for some of my stuff. The truck isn't gonna be the end all, be all offroad machine I had originally imagined. I'm just gonna put on the 38"s and fix what breaks.

After seeing other vehicles in action and considering opinions voiced by others this weekend my next vehicle project might be a 4 letter word.(starts with "J" and ends with "P"?) /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

Orion's a Trader!!

We had a blast on the Snow Run to Fulton. I haven't been on a snowrun in a few years. It really changes the trails.
Layne, I can relate about the flat spots. My rig had sat since the Fall Crawl due to the busted hydro cylinder and man were the flat spots bad! I bet it took 10 miles to get the swampers back to their typical oval shape.

Not a trader yet and won't be for a long time.
I don't have the $$$ to be a trader!!

Todd,
What was wrong with your steering on the way home? Tires still cold and un-round?
I've got a pic of you coming out of the hole with your tires " 3 FEET IN THE AIR ".
Should I e-mail it to you? I'm still working on posting pics.

Re: Snow wheeling

Good. Keep the longbed around for awhile. You showed pretty good "skillz" for gettin' that thing around in the woods so well. Dump the clutch and go AUTO! I think you realized this already tho.

Thanks for the pics in the email. I'll post up if I have enough room in my gallery.

The steering cleared up after a little while on the highway. It was a shimmy that I believe was from mud or snow (or something). When you get this modified (and flog them hard offroad), they don't drive like Caddys no mo.

I don't believe that was 3 feet like the guy in the Rubi said it was...more like maybe a foot.
Nevertheless, it was cool, blasting out of that ditch!

It's kicka$$ to be able to hammer a locked, 35sp chromoly Dana 60 with drive gears and not break anything!
