Ok guys, here are some pics of our trip...just go to this site and you can see them all...plus the videos at the end are of Big Blue's unfortunate ring gear carnage! Man, what an ugly sound!

Cool pics! Looks like you had a blast.

    What's this all about? <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.zing.com/picture/p03257be5d47c97ff2a52af7767033c0f/feb0b5a5.jpg.orig.jpg>http://www.zing.com/picture/p03257be5d47c97ff2a52af7767033c0f/feb0b5a5.jpg.orig.jpg</A>

Is this guy making his own trail or does the picture not show everything? Looks like he's mowing down trees. [IMG]

    Harry,

Yes, that would be the "Heap" Cherokee Chief...he tried to get up the hill, couldn't make it, stalled his motor, his brakes lost power, and he pretty much was out of control going quickly downhill - luckily for him (and not so lucky for those trees) his momentum was stopped by those trees and soft dirt! It was wild! Anyway, he was stuck there, and after I went up the hill, we used my winch + three or four straps (it was a LONG pull) and got him out of there...leave it to the "Heaps"!!! ha,ha

Time for that guy to invest in some good brake pads! Sounds to me like he came close to being a statistic! [IMG]

Yeah really...it was close. I was at the bottom of the hill getting ready to ascend (on a different line) when I saw him coming...I started up to get out of the way...I am sure his pants were stained after that!!

Yeah, well, this will make you want to join us next time for sure!! Sorry you missed it, it really was a nice trip. I hope we can get this Los Coyotes trip going for May 5-6 weekend. If that falls through, I am doing a Memorial Weekend trip up to Big Bear if anyone is interested in meeting me up there. I will be going up with the family, so unfortunately I won't have any room at the cabin, but hopefully some of you can come up!

    BlazzinOr,

No, those are the Steel Horse Super Seats. That is what I am gonna be getting soon, and probably be replacing my rear bench seat with 2 more Super Seats also. They are nice seats. We sell them here at work, so let me know if you are interested, I can probably get you a good price!

Whose black beauty is that with the roof rack? Nice rig..........who is the manufacturer of the rack? Looks very nice.........haven't seen one mounted "up front" like that. Couldn't tell for 100% sure, but does it also overlap the removable top?

    Thanks.............

    BlazzinOr,

Thanks for the compliment, that would be my Blazer! [IMG] It is a Con-Ferr rack, a 4' L x 5' W x 6'' H porthole rack. I wanted to be able to put the tire and a cooler up there, plus I carry gas cans for some trips. It DOES overlap the fiberglass top. The front mounts are the "Bull dog" rain gutter clamps. The rear half uses rubber expansion bolt mounts that mount in the fiberglass top. This gives the top and body the ability to "flex" a little. The top is solid, I can stand on it with no problems. And when I take my top off for the summer, I made some simple brackets that allow me to mount the rack to the roll bar. The little rack that only covers the metal roof was too small for my tire (and a waste in my mind), and the large rack that only covers the fiberglass top is no good when you decide to take the top off!! I think mine is a good compromise!
