1 US gallon is 3.78 litres.

1 US dollar is $1.23 canadian.

    .99 x 3.78 = $3.74

    $3.74/ 1.23 = $3.04 US per US gallon.

Prices around here suck, and the gas stations play a daily game with prices. In the early morning (until rush hour is pretty much done) gas is $1.109/litre ($3.41/gallon in USD)

They gouge people that are late for work and low on gas...

once they've run through the suckers and the uninformed prices drop steadily until early afternoon when it settles at 99.9/litre. It stays at that price until midnight when they jack it up again. This has happened every single day for the last three months.

Previous to this tactic gas used to get more expensive on Friday's (common payday) the 15th, and the 1rst. I called it their 'payday plan'

Same 10-12 cent swing from the low to the high. It's so much like black market pricing it's not even funny...

As a gas consumer here you need to regularly re-learn the latest pricing scam, and adjust the when and where you fill up to best suit it.

Well, that is one thing a bit odd...our diesel is still cheaper than regualr gas. Average in town is 95.5/litre ($2.93/gallon) and the diesel price never get's changed like the gas price does.

I think it due in large part to everyone and their mothers driving diesel pickups here. AKA scamming the consumer.

Your'e not safe from rising gas prices anywhere. We still have it better than most, so think how bad it sucks for everyone else. $2.25/gal here this morning.

Name the country from where the USA imports most of its oil.

    Saudi Arabia?

    Mexico?

    Iraq?

    Venezuela?

    United Arab Emirates?

Actually, it is Canada. The western provinces developed their Rocky Mountain oil fields about twenty years ago. No greens there!

Oil hit 66.00 bucks a barrel yesterday on the world market.

Here, regular is 2.75 a gallon, diesel is 3.20 a gallon.

    This is un-American!

no its greed on the stockmarkets part.

ANY excuse they can come up with, they use.

it started out because of 9/11
    then the iraq war
    then shortage
then it came out the US stockpiles of oil were the highest they been in 10+yrs.
then its refinery problems (which coincendtally a few blow up)
then lets blame it on some Saudi King that died who has been in the picture because of his health for many years.
then its "we think there are going to be some terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia"

now they just ran out of excuses and realize there isnt a goddamn thing we can do about it so they just raise it up.

the thing that pisses me off the most, is when 6-8 months ahead of time you can tell me that i will be paying $3/gallon for gas, THAT is price fixing.

BTW, when i bought my Dodge in 9/99, gas was $0.78/gallon.
