    Antartica is actually a desert, meaning it get less than 10" of precipitation a year ( i think thats how much...) but anyways it looks like alot of snow cause it never melts, not because it snows alot...

    so its a desert... who cares... there is still lots of snow on the ground... its way colder than 20 degrees there... how did the snow get there in the first place? I don't care if its 1 flake of snow per year... it still snows there with temps lower than 20...

    it does warm up there a bit in there "summer" that would make it come above -20.

    so all the snow that is there falls in the uber-short above-20 summer? I'm guessing no. It may be above 20 on the ground, but how about at higher elevation, where the snow actually starts falling from?

    here is a snerp taken from straightdope.com on the subject..

    cliff notes: its never to cold to snow...

    Excellent point.

    You ever been in weather with 100% pure sunshine and 31*F? Very, very low humidity.

    Clouds=moisture/humidity, period.
