Well the wife has been bugging me for some time to get a playground for the kids so she wouldn't have to take them to the park. She kept metioning the convienence of a playground at home. So while I was in California for work I stopped off at Costco and then my weekendvacation of building a monster play ground began.

It was pretty hillarious. The guy at Costco that helped me load the 5 boxes and a slide said that they hired a company to come put their demo model together. He told me that it took 5 guys 2 1/2 days to complete it. He suggested that I do the same.

Well the great thing was that it only took me 2 days. I worked about 6-7 hours each day and the really nice thing is that the wife went to Lowes and bought me an electric impact wrench to put it together.

So here it into the first day and what I was able to complete.

    So on to day two:

After consuming alot of alcohol after day one I was able to finish most of it just after the kids ate dinner so they could play on it before they were off to bed. The only thing that is left to do is throw down some mulch.

    Nice job, Shane!!!

I'm gonna be building the girls an addition to their playground at the property this summer. It's gonna be 8x8 A-frame cedar-shake cabin sitting on an 8x14 5 foot high raised platform, which will connect to their existing playground with a 10 foot long bridge. I'm getting tired just thinking of it.......:rotfl:

Be sure to snap a couple pics of the kids enjoying their new "toy" and share them with us!!!! :thumb:

    Thanks!

It is great to see them enjoy all that hard work you endured isn't it?

Post some pics of it when you finish that sounds awesome!

Hey Shane, at 2 how much of it do they use, and are they afraid of any of it?
I'm thinking of doing the same for my grand daughter, she'll be 2 this sat.
Looks like a heck of a job you did.

That looks great. The little "rock wall" is too cool. I might have to add one of those to my kid's set.

76zim- If you are willing to push them they will love it at 2 and won't be affraid of it as they get older. At least that's how it worked for my kids.

Excellent job Mx. Wife did the same thing to me last summer but I only had a $200 limit. I ended up building one in my head standing in front of the Home Depot lumber and started throwing 2x6s on the cart. Ended up with a Aframe swing set with two swings, a 5 ft deck with a rockwall on the back and a 5 ft slide my inlaws found in a ditch.

Now all I hear is "I want Monkey bars!!!!" I guess that will be next.

It looks fancier, larger and more expensive than the house I live in. Lucky kids!

She has no fear! Rose has been using it none stop! I would highly suggest it. It says that it is from ages 3-11 years old. This one was purchased at Costco for $1200. It really wasn't that bad to put together either. The hardest part was figuring out what was in what box. Once you get used to the directions it went together very smooth.
