and i'm not sure what to do about it. a little background... one of my childhood friends has an 87 R30 dually that he uses to pull travel trailers for a living. the 454 in the truck is a little too much (higher CR, cammed) for pulling, so we planned to pull it, and put the stock 454 he has in his garage into the truck. at the same time, he decided he wanted to put a 465 in place of the TH400. i talked him into a hydro clutch setup, because he already had a set of pedals for one. we just needed to find a bellhousing. i posted in the classified section, and a member responded that he had one, named his price, which i thought was fair, so i sent him the payment for it via PayPal. fast forward to Thursday, the TH400 gives up the goose. fortunately, not with a load in tow. so i send my seller a PM in regards to the bellhousing, telling him how we now need it ASAP, as my buddy's wife and 4 kids are depending on the paychecks the truck will bring in. i watch his activity on CK5, and see that he had been online not only Thursday night, but Friday, and Saturday as well, making posts. finally, on Saturday night, i see that he is on CK5. so i shoot him another PM, to which he finally responds. i find out that he has not shipped the bellhousing yet, and says that he will do so on Monday. ok, good enough i guess, but im still a little irked that he ignored my PM. i asked him to send me some kind of confirmation that he sent it, tracking number, etc. when he shipped it, and i have not heard back from him. what should i do? if it were just a spare truck, or hell, even if it was my truck, i wouldnt be as worried about it. since it is my buddy's truck that is down, and his family depends on it, i'm getting a little anxious. this guy was known to be a shaky seller in the past, and according to his feedback, he had changed his ways. i guess we'll see tomorrow, since he told me he was sending it Second Day Air.
