A friend of mine just opened a bar and he has a cylinder index rating game every Saturday night. Whoever has the highest rating there at 11:00 has there bar tab picked up for the night. Food doesn't count, only drinks.

What is a cylinder index rating? Well you add up the number of WORKING diesel or gas cylinders which you own. The motors must be in a vehicle which can propel a person in some maner. So your weedwacker and push mowers do not count, but your riding mower does.

The one exception is for whole motors which were pulled out in working order and still have all of the necessary accesories, intakes or computers for them to run attached.

    For example I have:
    Buell - 2 cyl, T-Bird - 8 cyl, K5 - 8 cyl, own my girls Taurus - 6 cyl, a complete small block - 8 cyl, and a dirtbike - 1 cyl.
    So my rating is 33.
For the vehicle to count you have to be able to get in or on it and turn a key(or push a button) put it into gear and move.
There was a long heated debate as to whether boats count or not. I say they do.

    So what's your rating?

The K5 is a carburetor away from running, but I didn't include it since it isn't 100% turnkey.

i would think that they would count a boat. you can get in it start it and it will propel a person. if motorcycles count do quads and gocarts and such? if so why not a boat?

My family wins, I think we have somewhere in the neighborhood of 700 vehicles in our possession. So out of the countless 4,6, and 8 cylineder vehicles we have well over 3000. muahaha.

I think the argument against boats was because they don't have wheels.
Also, if you own a dealership it doesn't count. One guy on Saturday night came up with 400 because he owns a used equipment lot. We didn't count him.

Kind of makes you realize you need to buy more stuff doesn't it?
