I still have a CyberMax P166+ that I bought about 7 years ago. It still works but it's heading out very soon. Slow as hell

My laptop has been around since '98 and still runs Win98, even though it stresses the 1gig HD. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Gateway P2 266 mhz, 1.9 gig HD. bought in 98. Upgraded to 128 mb ram and added another 1gig slave HD I had laying around.
Still working good after a major clean up (reformat).

4 year old NEC, AMD 450, 10 gig HD, had 64mb RAM but I upgraded that to 256mb...

It's slow as hell, still runs 98, makes some gawdawful noises and likes to lock up pretty often.

I'm going to have a new one built soon.

I log on using a 266 Mhz Pentium II laptop with dialup. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif But at least it has a 6 gig drive and 256 meg of RAM and is running Windows 2000 Pro. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif It's WAY faster than my desktop system, an old 133 MHz AMD 486 with 32 meg of RAM (or is it 64? I haven't even turned it on in a while!) running NT4. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif The kids use the Compaq 333 Mhz Celeron system with 192 meg of RAM and a 30 gig drive (and 21-inch monitor!) for playing all of their educational games.

Other "stuff" that's laying around because I can't bring myself to part with it:

166 MHz Pentium Digital HiNote VP laptop with 48 meg of RAM and a 2-gig drive.
75 Mhz 486 Digital HiNote Ultra laptop with mobile media docking station (plays music CD's about as good as many stereo systems!) /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
    A non-descript 486 desktop with 32 meg of RAM, running Sun Solaris V. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif
A couple of 386 motherboards, stuffed with all the RAM they could hold.

My 4-year-old son thinks it's totally cool to sit and type away at the keyboard of an old Digital 386sx/20 laptop, even though the battery is dead. He drags it around the house and tells us he's "going to the dot com". /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

My home PC is a January of '97 IBM Aptiva with a 166mhz P1 and 64mb or RAM /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif. It originally came with 16mb of RAM and a 3GB hard drive. I have since added another 2GB. Remarkably enough, I am running WinXP Pro on it. It is slow as heck but the cable modem helps make surfing bearable. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Well, I just moved my Trash-80 Coco-2 computer (900KhZ/64K mem) to the garage for storage. (Maybe with the cassette deck, dual diskdrives and matching DMP printer i'll be on the Antiques road show someday /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif)
    This week I trashed my 286/8Mhz and 486/66, I am currently using my 386 Laptop (33Mhz/16M Win95) to write this message. I also have a 486 (90mhz/64m/Win98) upstairs, a 586, compaq 166, IBM K6-200 and the newest is a P-III/850.

Looks like I got more cleaning to do /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My "gaming" computer is a Tandy 2000 from 1979. The games on that thing rock, way more orriginal than the new ones. Its not like you need graphics to ejoy games. Nothing beats having 2 boot disks just to get the computer to turn on. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

EMachine (the E stands for most econoical POS you can buy...kind of like the kia of the computer world. 400 mhz celeron desktop with 128mb ram and 3 gig hard drive, i still have the box for the monitor that says "Y2K Compliant" /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

...so you can see why i recently purchased my 2.8 GHZ 533Mhz FSB P4, 512 MB ram on single chip, 40 GIG, Radeon 9000 video card, 4 USB ports, 5.1 digital audio-out, CD-R / DVD drive... BEAST of a laptop. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
