my absence from the lounge today between 3:20 and 4:00 (generally off from 4:00-4:30 or 5:00 due to falling asleep at the computer) and then throughout the evening.

never fear, i had good reason to be gone.

a buddy of mine came over after work today, and we started on a little project.

our house was built in 1972. thanks to the hideous decorating "style" (if you dare to call it that. :doah: ) of that era, our entryway was tiled with a lovely green ceramic tile. last week Dad and i ripped it all out, and sanded the floor smooth.

my buddy Jeremy and I laid most of the new floor today (didnt finish due to a screwed up tile saw.

anywho, here are the progress pictures. :D

and yes, i know my camera sucks. the lighting is REALLY funky in there right now.

we'll be finshing up tomorrow, after cutting the remaining tiles on the tile saw at work. then we'll let it set up until Friday, at which point we'll grout it, just in time for our annual Christmas get together on Christmas Eve.

i'll be sure to post finished pics when its all done.

Nice work. I wish I could afford a tile saw. All I have to use is a diamond wheel on my 4" grinder, but at least I can cut a radius with it.:D

What color grout are you going with?

Find an older table top saw, with guide. Replace the wood blade with a 7 1/4" made for a hand held saw. It won't last forever, but if you work slow, it is surprising what it will do.:D
