Apparently I'm starting to get old. My co-workers didn't appreciate the artistic endeavors of Jimmy Dean and Tim McGraw today on the radio.

How many people under 30 will attribute the name Jimmy Dean to country music?

Good point. I am almost 30 and when I have a hangover I attribute the name to breakfast. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I personally am not into country. The big turn off for me is the whole cowboy thing. I apsolutly hate the sound of a steel gatuir. It's like dragging fingernails down a chalk board for me.

Dude, I love steel guitar. My wife, she likes country also, but not the twangy stuff. We almost fought over that. And besides, one word, Rockies!

I like old country music, a lot of the local country (Jerry Jeff, REK, some of Pat's old stuff, and CCR is tha sh!t), and alternative. Weird combo huh? Saw a lot of live country in Billy Bob's when I was younger, so that is how I got into the whole country thing. Mainly listen to alternative though.

the coolest thing is when i went to a willie nelson concert and he was there, ccr was there, and so was kevin fowely or somethin like that. he was doin cover songs to older country music. i just love the sounds of merle haggard. i think hag is the best followed by waylon. i just like country and all sorts of music. later.
