Will the stick from a 73 to 86 K-5 with a SM 465 fit a first Gen ? What I am asking is, since the bends in the stick are different will the stick interfere with anything, seat, dash, console, etc.?

The tranny shift lever hit the console in my Blazer. That's why I sold the chrome sticks I got out of a '76 CST. They didn't fit well in my '72.

Thank you two for the response. Steve did the stick hit the console so bad that a little heat and bend below the rubber boot wouldn't cure it?

It would have taken a lot of heating and bending. My NV4500 stick clears the console MUCH better than the Gne2 stick did and the shifter housing on the NV is about 4" farther back than the shifter housing on the SM465.

Be careful when heating and bending that you don't make the metal brittle. I already snapped one SM465 stick at its base.
