Stange thing. As you may know, my drivetrain has some boogers in it. Here is another thing it does:

I back down my drive way, put in D, give it a little gas, start moving then *knock knock*! It sounds like something near the tcase is knocking on the floorpan! Seems to happen as I am turning. Only happens once then it seems not to re-occur. Any ideas?

I had a loose body mount bolt that made that same noise.

I have also heard loose body mounts do that. It seems to thump the floor from take off.

    Keep it simple!

I currently (hope to fix this week) have the same noise. Mine is a bolt missing from my drivers side motor mount. When I get on the gas hard, the motor twists and the transmission "knocks" on the floorpan. Maybe you have the same thing?

It\'s a Rice boy in the Honda you just backed over!

I had a transfer case bolt drop out and it would do that every time I got on a hill where I had to gas it hard.

It's not my damn planet monkey boy!

im having a problem similar to what grim is describing. if im in 2wd and park with the front wheels hanging on the curb the truck makes a loud popping noise as it settles of the curb. i dont practice parking on curbs but when i noticed it i tried it again and the same effect. could it be a worn out t-case chain? i have a NP241

Haha! Had the same noise. Scared the $hit out of me. Thought my tranny or t-case was shot. Make sure the speedo cable is held in place securely, and isn't near the floorpan where it can smack it when the cable moves inside.

HEY! I do have a cable coming out of my tcase that is wearing the protectant off my floorpan as it hits it. It seems to come out of the front-side of the tcase and hangs about 2 inches from the pan. There are marks on the pan where it has obviously hit the pan a lot. Wonder if that's it?
