    Re: Something Good To See

I skipped watching the rest after I saw that all the images were being obscured by the text. I could do without the surprise sermon. Pictures and music were nice though /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

For those on dialup it may take a while to download. I will admit to not watching the whole thing but it seems to be a religious recruiting tool tucked inside great pictures and gentle music. For believers it will likely prove very nice, for non-believers it has pretty pictures but probably isn't worth the download time.

No need to apologize /forums/images/icons/smile.gif. It had something to offer believers and non-believers alike. A note next time would be a nice addition though /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

    Re: Something Good To See

I didnt feel it was a recuruiting tool or I definatly wouldnt have posted it. It is just something to make people feel good. Anything to make a person feel good is worth a little download time. But if anyone else doesnt like it ill delete the post. Just let me know. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

    Re: Something Good To See

Not whining at all. I just thought there could've been more information about the link in the original post. I said it had something to offer everyone and I meant that. I figure it's fair that if you post a link to a large file that for people on slow modems you post a note about it's content. That way people don't waste time waiting for a surprise that they're not interested in. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif I thought it was great for people of faith and judging by the comments here it probably is. Those without faith may enjoy the images and music. But again with any big download a description is nice /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I am glad you all enjoyed it and I didnt offend anyone else. It really doesnt take allot of download time at all. I have a dial up connection and it only takes a minute or two. You can let it load while you do other things. I wish I was good enough at the types of programs they used to make that. Im still learning how to use the simple things! lol

Thank you very much for that. I don't think there was anything about that that was offensive. If it didn't say the word 'God', everyone would watch it and say it is a wonderful message. But because the word God is used, it somehow becomes a religous recruting tool. All it is, is a few words we all should think about. Beleivers or not.

Re: Something Nice To Look At

I'm a believer and the small bit I watched didn't really have anything to do with religion. I didn't see it through to the end, but what I saw was just a human analysis by an author that thought it would be nice to have it come from God. I didn't see any religious leaning or basis in it.

    I concur...

Personally, I think Aaron is off base...across town is more accurate.

Re: Something Nice To Look At

thank you for sharing that with us all. i watched it 3 times only to get more out of it each time. i had a horrible day at work, only to bring that attitude home to my family, but it only takes a few inspirational words (or a shared message) to bring me back to reality and help me once again focus on my life as a christian. a struggling christian!
to others it may have been nice music and pictures....but to me it was so much more.
    thanks again.

Why? Because he didn't get anything from it, or find it to be something that he wanted to see? I agree with Aaron, a heads-up note would be nice. How long did you spend on the NIMITZ, and the navy? Still active?

    None of the above...

Some things are better left unsaid...and I'll leave it at that.

I was never aboard the Nimitz, my "black shoe" buddy nicknamed my Suburban after that ship. I was "brown shoe" Navy and I was in for 10 years, out since '98.
