    I got a 77 blazer and i was driving it yesterday when i noticed there is this noise in the column when you turn it it kinda sounds like its grinding.I know its coming like right below the steering wheel anyone know what is causing this.My steering kinda feels loose.When you turn to the right then when you turn it to the left its gets stiff i have no clue whats causeing this any suggestions.

    My 78 has a bearing in the column under the lockplate. Check to see if that is what is causing your noise. Mine doesnt seem bad, not sure how to change or if you can.

    I had this happen to my 84.

    You've got to pull the wheel. There's a little part in there that is out of place. I can't remember exactly what it was, but you'll know when you tear into it.
