Sorry. I've gotta ask some Q's about TPI

    I've scoured the whole area of my county for a cheap fuel injection setup, and today, I think I finally found it. It's in the form of an IROC Camaro. I can get the WHOLE car for $350. I've popped the hood and the TPI setup looks complete, or at least to me it does. So, back to more generic questions. Will this engine bolt up to my 465, or will I have to transfer all of the parts over to my spare TBI engine from an 88 K5? Come on with the responses, because I've already got the trailer hooked up to the truck! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif All I need to do is bum $350 from my dad and it's mine. What do you fellas think?

    Just do it. The thing will hook up to your SM465. Though I would check if its a 305 and not a 350.

    From what I was told, the IROC Camaro's only got the TPI 350 and all of the others got a TBI 305. I wasn't sure if the car engines had the same tranny bolt pattern as the trucks did.

    My buddy bought a TPI 305 (or at least was told) last year. It is my understanding that the injectors are different sizes, but will still work. Anyone care to correct or back me up on this?

    305's have 19 lb/hr injectors, 350's have 22 lb injectors. You can buy a set of Accel injectors from Summit for $240ish.

    This car is mine if it's a 350. Anyone know if 350's are all they put in IROC Camaro's?

    i would use the top from the IROC end for your engine out of the K5. if your K5 motor is in good shape.

    Both need to be rebuilt, so I don't know what I'm gonna do. I was wanting to put just a little hickory stick in it, but not too big as to affect the crawl performance.

    Iroc's had both 305 and 350's. '87-'88 Iroc's with T-tops could have either, but other year t-top cars had 305's. The torque of the 350's was twisting the bodies without the extra roof support.

    i bought my tpi setup out of a 1986 iroc. it is the 305 setup. i installed it with the 19lb. injectors and havent been let down with it. seems to supply my 350 with plenty of gas. i would say ...go for it!!! i doubt you will regret it.

    i love mine!!!
