I have checked Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com, Chilton's, and Haynes and nobody has a good in depth Ring & Pinion setup book (just general overviews). Does anyone know of where to get a book with a GOOD IN DEPTH instructions on R&P setups.

    Publications.....No.
But you can get different websites that have write ups. But thats about all I have ever found. The R&P's usually come with instructions too. And added with what you can find here and from sites like:

Call Summit Racing or Richmond Gear.... Richmond gear sells a video that shows you how to set-up rear ends. They go through most style of rears all in one video for about $18... Summit Racing sells it as well as others probably!

Yep, got the video too. It was pretty helpfull. But they cram alot into 10 minutes, thats for sure. Not a lot of detail though. But worth the money.

The GM service manual has pretty good instructions (the ones I have seen) but typically use part numbers for their tools instead of actual names of them. All you typically get are things like "if pattern looks like this (picture) then you need to shim X this way" Not much more to it than that, except torque specs.
