Spare tire carrier

    Does anyone know of a swing away spare kit for k5's?

    There are bunches of them but ususally with an aftermarket bumper. Don't know of anyplace that sells one that bolts to the body.

    Ditto. Do a search. Lhey've been pretty well covered in the past. I just made my own on home made HD bumpers.:xmas:

    Back In The Day, the dealers offered one that bolted to the quarter panel and tailgate -- the popular design was made by Valley Industries, though there was also a Hickey unit. The fancy ones held a 5 gallon Blitz-style gas can too. You'll see a very similar unit on the big Broncos.

    Anyway, these are fine for stock tires, up to a 31", but 33"+ tires WILL shread your sheet metal when the carrier pops bolts/screws out :(

    And yes, you can beef u; such a carrier -- but if you're looking for a pre-made solution, the bumper mount is gonna be the way to go.
