spare tire mount

    i see a lot of nice looking mounts at the tailgate. does anyone have a drawing, materials list or some other way of sharing these neat accessories? i'm looking to get my spare out of the blazer...it takes up to much room!! while on the subject, how about spare gas can mounts?

    I dont have any drawings but......I saw this nice looking blazer today that had a spare tire mount that came out of the hitch...It had a ball attached to it also....when you want to get in the back you pull a pin and swing the tire down....I like that Idea...since you dont have to modify anything.....Just slide it into your reciever and away you go and you can still tow....I jiggeled it around and it was sturdy......Does anyone know where I can get one of these?????

    The only problem with those is lifting the tire everytime you want access to the back. I know my tires are heavy and that would get old real fast.

    I saw this also, it has helper springs to get it back up into place. I printed it out and am looking for that now.....

    I would like a copy of it. I have also bounced around the idea of a similar setup that would use the hitch as the mounting point. This could also put the tire down lower to give you more rear ward visiability.
