Will it be ok to use a bias ply spare tire. I will be running 35" SSR's and can get a 35" bias spare for next to nothing and was wondering if it will be ok untill I get another SSR.

I run TSL's which are bias and my spare is a 35" Kelly DTR which is a radial. I had to use it last year once. I drove about 25 miles with it on. I didn't notice much of a difference!

Every tire co will tell you that. I used to run my Charger with radials on the front and bias on back with no problems but never did it with a 4x4. And this will be just one bias. I would only use it on the rear so if a front would go I would take one from the rear and put it up front and only use the bias on the back, I think it would not be as bad on the back.

If you're only using it as a spare to get you back home, It should be ok. Running different bias all the time has been a constant no no as long as I can remember.

I was always told the same thing, dont mix. But I run radials all the time, and for the raunchy trips, I swap on my set of bias TSL SXs onto the rear and I cant tell any difference. And I carry one of the Swampers for my spare.
Shoulb be great for a spare.
