Since my 85 has a rebuilt 350 I have no idea what to gap the plugs at, it has about 20k and I want to put in some platinums, But I have no idea what to gap the plugs at, is there a general standard that can be used?

The book may say .035 but I go .045 for more spark!
Any were in this range will work fine.

If you have an aftermarket ignition like MSD or Jacobs you might consider a larger gap. I run .060 with Jacobs.

Even going to just a hot coil and good quality wire set should allow an .050 or larger gap to work

oh, and one more thing-- there is no real difference between the regular AC 90 cent spark plugs and those high and mighty platnums--
you won't see any real gains--except a decrease in the width of your wallet!
