Probably not enough to have a sudden, drastic change like a brick wall that you can't break.

What exactly happens when you reach 4000RPM? Does it start "cutting out"? Is it repeatable at idle and when driving?

when i reach around 4000 and hold the pedal to the floor it sounds like i have "explosives in my headers".

but from 500 - 4000rpm everytings works normal.

    Did you say no HEI?
Do you have points or do you have an aftermarket electronic ignition?
With the points you could have that exact problem if the points are going bad or the gap is small

Get an HEI, its easy to put in and makes it run a lot better. Im not sure if it would fix your problem though, I just know I love mine after platying with points

Like Noah said, get an HEI, you will have less problems and I bet you will not have that problem anymore.
Here you can get it for under $100.
No Idea how much in Norway though. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sounds to me that you are either experiencing point bounce or valve float. Valve float usually does not occur until around 5000 or 5500 RPM's. It would be my best guess that you have a bad set of points. Like others have said, your best bet is to install either a HEI distributor or an aftermarket electronic of some kind. You also could install a pertronics magnetic pick-up into your existing distributor which will eliminate your points.
