speaker question(not for audio section)

    does any one know the factorey size original speaker that was just in front of the rear bench seat. how rare is this ? i have the factorey speaker grill covers but no speakers. they are almost flush mount not raised like the rear mounted speakers. thanks.

    Never heard of speakers from the factory mounted there. Got any pic's?

    Ive heard that they are 4x10" speakers. They are pretty rare, but they sell em at best buy. Only certain years had them, I know that the 1991 Suburbans had these speakers.

    well guys all there is is holes in my sides right now. covers are off in my house. the covers matched the interior perfectly and where not spray painted. they are not 4x10's , little smaller.

    I know my dad's 1990 suburban has these, they are 3x9's, kind of a dumbass size considering there is an abundance of sheet metal there to use.

    4x10s aren't rare, they're just not desireable (according to auto audiophiles). You don't see them for sale in most places, but Crutchfield has some in their selection.

    Might be a little off-topic, but it's really easy to make the hole in the side panels slightly larger to fit 6x9's, which are more common and sound a lot better. You don't even have to remove the panels, actually. Just need a sharp knife.
