    it's 4wd so I'm looking at a 350 (305?)
    tranny options were? (dreading it's a 700r)
what about options like silverado vs scottsdale??
It has the super cool( but can't get them off quick enough) running boards /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
It's also a rear gate instead of barn doors( 6 of one and half a dozen of the other or was it option driving on to what they got)

My '83 has 700R4, but i think the 400 was available in the 3/4ton up till '90. I don't know about the engine, but I would bet it's a 350.

being a heavier truck, and having 4wd, there's every chance it has the TH400 in it, instead of the 700r4. more likely then not, the engines the 350, although the 400 was available, and the scottsdale trim package was middle of the line on those things. ( if I recall, trim levels went custom, custom deluxe, scottsdale, cheyenne, silverado. at some point, they removed the cheyenne trim level, and I really couldn't tell you when. ) you could check the brochures thread thats floating 1 or 2 away from this one for available options, engine combos, and likely transmissions.

also, aint nothin' wrong with the tailgate... :-P

I stopped by it today on my lunch to check it out.
and it is the TH400. The headliner is sagging and the radio was installed in the worst of ways. The price is still good but I need to test drive it before I give in to it.
It is a bench seat front.
there is a dent in the rear right above the taillight and one on the drivers door, the driver door would pop right out but the rear one would have to stay unless I paint the thing which I don't plan to do.

My intentions are a 89-91 grill swap.
    exna the running boards
    new exhaust
    new windshield(cracked)
and just make it look good before I do the lift.

BTW asking is just under $2K

if I recall, trim levels went custom, custom deluxe, scottsdale, cheyenne, silverado

Funny... My '91 ex-logging truck - completely and utterly without any options (radio-delete! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif) is a Cheyenne. My buddy's '87, also plain-jane, but with vinyl buckets, was a custom deluxe.

It seems to vary from year to year. Silverado, Custom, and Cheyenne have all been the top trim level at one time or another. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Custom deluxe could be built up to whatever you wanted... you started with the basic truck, and sat down with a trim option book, and added goosets and doodads as you wanted. the main differences, as pointed out in the brochures, were wether you got carpet, or rubber mats, and wether you had a full depth foam seat, or a foam padded spring seat.

before 76, the Silverado trim package didn't exist.. the top of the line was the Cheyenne Super package, which was basicaly the same thing.

So Custom Deluxe and Cheyenne Super are essentially special-order badging? That would be nice to know if it was /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
