spider identification

    i found this spider making a large web outside one of our windows. i was wondering what kind of spider it is, it has a very large body, anbd the spider is probably the size of a quarter or bigger. here are some pics, dorsal and ventral

    Looks like a typical garden spider,I'm no pro for sure but I think it's fine to have around, so unless you've already killed it i wouldn't worry about it....

    I gotta agree with Rob. Looks like a common garden spider to me as well. They're kinda nasty looking but harmless.

    Yeah, it looks like a garden spider to me as well. I wouldn't worry about it, it's not a Widow or Recluse so you should be ok.

    Do what I do with blackwidows. Take some brake cleaner and a lighter and hit that [darn] with a nice hot flame thrower. The last couple spiders I got with that exploded. Hehe, its fun.
