i'm not a baseball fan, but i saw him on tv a few times and he seemed pretty cool. Wonder what he thought about modern-era players hitting .275 and making $1 million a year? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Anybody remember Ted Williams on the front of the Wheaties boxes? (right after he
retired I think)? Wish I had one of those boxes right now! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I guess his family is not having a funeral for him? Unless I heard that wrong.... and I heard a rumor they are fighting, his kids that is, because one wanted to freeze him so his DNA could be used later? WTF? I hope that's just a bad joke and not true........ /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif /forums/images/icons/confused.gif /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Ted Willams has got to be the greatest hitter of the Modern era the only other player that really comes close was Tony Gwynn but Ted also missed 5 years due to millatary sevice. Just think if he hadn't mised those 5 years.
    RIP Mr. .400
