What is a spool and what does it do? I heard it was like a locker but the guy who told me wasn't sure, I have heard of them in racing but still don't know what they are. thanks

Its like a locker but simpler. Its only one piece that both axles go into and it locks them together so they turn at the same rate. They are harder to break but turning can be a problem since they are always on.

A spool locks both axles together. Therefore, there is no slipping, it's solid from one side to the other. Not the hot setup for any street driven vehicle.
