spring rates, what\'s the difference?

i have some stiff A$$ 4" procomps now and i'm looking at some 6" tuff country EZ rides. i know that 6"ers are stiffer than 4"ers but are the EZ rides soft enough that they would be softer than my stiff pro comps. /forums/images/icons/confused.gif and if anyone knows what the spring rates are that would help.

I don't have my catalogs right here, but I remember reading some of the aftermarket spring rates were different from others and depending on whether it was stiff or soft ride.

The softest front springs I have read about were something like 275 psi or something like that. Don't remember which brand these were.

The stiffest I have seen are the Rancho Mud Bogger 6" front springs at a whopping 680 psi. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

I have a feeling that the 6" EZ-rides are going to be softer than the 4" Pro-Craps. Here is a table of rates, right here on CK5.

thanks a lot man. looks like even the 6" EZs will be quite a bit softer than my "pro craps." /forums/images/icons/wink.gif /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif
