Well we've already been planning a June run of all 60 miles of the Rubicon (60 miles in four days). Of course only properly set up rigs are invited on this run.

Are there some bypasses for the most difficult trails? I don't think the Sub wiil be able to make it through the entire trail. I would like to go up there this summer with the wife and kids to do some boating, fishing, and just kick back. I plan on having the 456's and detroit locker rear in by then. I'm doing the 6" springs and 36's right now. I flexed the Sub with a forklift today and got the front hub up to 52".

I haven't been through there yet but my understanding is that a K5 will have lots of problems just getting through the first obstacle much less the whole trail. I don't think a Sub would get very far especially without MAJOR body damage. I have been assured that none of us K5's going in there will escape body damage. Even if we are all properly set up.

i have been from loon lake to little sluce....the gate keeper at that entrance is bad....if you are at all afraid of body damage you wont make it past it......you will need rocker gaurds because every..and i do mean every truck, bronco, toyota, etc etc etc go threw there smashed into the rockers......also there are a few parts that there are no go arounds...and i think a blazer would have a really hard time with it...it would be a one shot deal and then you would be screwed if you get stuck....once you get onto the granite face its not to bad from that point all the way to the little sluce.....it took us about 3hours to get to little sluce...but part of the prob was there was a marlin crawler run that weekend and we sat in line for over an hour just waiting to get past the gate keeper...there are a few pics on my webshots page...(link below) i rode with my friend...i dident want to take nor was my blazer set up for the rubicon...he has a 70 bronco and he was runnin open open with a 44 in front and 9 inch in the rear with 35's and he really dident get caught up on anything that required a winch or a pull...but beond that i dont know what its like...but since i am not up for takin my truck would someone mind if i rode along?

We don't have a date set in stone yet. Have been waiting to get confirmation on BlazerFest and Moab before setting the date. It will probably take a week to make the whole trip. I was thinking a Friday through Monday type trip. That way people wouldn't miss to much work. A Thursday through Sunday would work also. The first day of the trip would be historical and just a gravel road. The second day people not interested in the first day could meet up with us and start the "good stuff".

Sorry to say but the suburban proably will not make it through the the gate keeper its very tight the last one I saw trying back out and watch the gate keeper the whole weekend. Big Sluice will also claim a lot of body damage, but I'm not saying it can't be done, it will be a challenge.

Hey David, maybe I'll just take tha Suburban along the historical gravel road on the first day. After that I'll just take the family to one of the camp grounds. Would that be possible?

Ya that is just fine. If there are any others that want to do the same thing maybe you guys could run some of the other trails that are in the area.
