    I have a set of Superlift Softrides in my 71 GMC K1500 with a 383. It actaully rides much softer than stock, so I am happy. You have a big block so you could use a stiffer spring and maintain a good ride quality. Check out www.offroaddesign.com. They have a spring rate table that might help you. Also, many people use the Tough Country springs and are quite happy with the ride and flexability, but I havn't used them, so I don't really know for sure. Remember that EVERY truck is slightly different and ride quality may vary. Good Luck
