I have this stupid popup I get every time I open windows explorer.

I have already run both Spybot search and destroy and Adaware repeatedly and it never gets knocked out.

What the hell else is there that actually works? People on pirate post up about "Hijack this" but I have never been able to find that software.

    Ideas?

You probabally have a virus in your registry that anti spyware programs cant get.. You can try going here:http://www.trendmicro.com
Dong a free housecall a scan. It will find it and remove it. Or if it cant remove it. Click on the virus name and instructions will tell you how to remove it manually.

The quickest solution is to get rid of internet explorer. It is the easiest for jerks to exploit. In the end, though, you need several different tools all working together to keep the crap off your PC. You should have a firewall in your router, antivirus software, a popup blocker, a security monitor, a HOSTS file and the right security settings. It's also important to keep current with Windows Update.

Here's a good website that lays it all out pretty clearly.

Even if he changes from explorer, the problem will still exist.

Search for HijackThis.exe not hijack this

Next search for CWShredder, download (tiny file) and run it AFTER you update
    it.
Both programs are free and will rid you of this crap.

I have already run Adaware, Search and Destroy, and CWShredder before I even posted this.

I also used Hijack this and removed everything that looked suspicious.

I still have this isuse. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

firewall my man...if you have a signal splitter (ie. for your cable modem-for 2+ computers) you shouldn't need a firewall program, cuz its built in. they have free trials, DL one and see if it works...doesn't cost anything but time, and it may fix your problem....and then you may/may not decide to purchase.
