That would require someone getting out of the cab, locking the hubs and then putting the rig in 4x4.
Then whoever is driving would have to leave the safty of the pavement and get their rig muddy. Then there is that awful mud that would have to be washed off.
Ahhh the list is to long to go on.
Tis safer to wheel from the safty of the keyboards.

    I wouldn't bother with the St.helens run.
That place exceeds the moron capacity very quickly.

i think a group of us will just do a local run that weekend, my new shoes for the jeep should be here by then. 33" mtz's. the 14.5 wides are too wide for the jeep.

I should be in one piece and ready to rock by then. I plan to chang out the busted up front end over the weekend. I found a complete front and rear set of 10 bolts with 3.73's plus a spare front end for $100 and will probably put in new bearings and seals and poke em in this weekend. Someday the 14 bolt/dana 60 but till then - I GOT SPARES...

    Let the carnage begin.

I still need my rear tow hooks and probably weld the rear up.

Well, I'm back on the road again - I just swapped out carriers and gearsets and things seem ok for now. Don't know if I'll do the axle swap until after the holidays or not.

Who's in for going? I've got the new winch working - already pulled 2 folks out of the mud up in the McGowan Creek/Shotgun area. Why do folks with stock rigs think they can follow a well built rig? I have open diffs till I get stuff changed out though so I'll have to be a little smarter :wink1:

I know some of the area, but not a lot of it - sounds like a good time getting muddy. Will I be ok with open diffs or should I shove a locker in the back of mine? I've got a ez locker I could cram in (takes an hour or two so not a big deal) if I can't go without.

Where to meet and what time? I'll have the winch gear and hi jack with me but he who sticks wades :-)

From the sounds of it lockers will probably be helpful... unless you enjoy using your winch more?

Jeremy - You still up for this or has somthing better turned up? Should I throw the easy locker in the back or will it be ok open? I gernaded the detroit (I think it was on the way out when I bought it) but tossed in an open carrier without the ez locker to get by with till I put in the new axles.

BTW, you are bringing the Jeep? Don't know if I could keep up with the Suburban

Ok, I'll save the effort and not put the locker in till I finish the new axles. I'll set up a co-driver so I don't have to wade the winch cable call the time :wink1:

And you could send that 406 home with me - would run quite nicely in my Blazer:rolleyes:

11:00 in Philomath is probably better - give me time for the headache to wear off and my brain to engage:p:

I'll get a co-driver online. Anybody else wanting to go? The more the muckier;)
