Anyone ever seen these? Looking through the '85/'86 Truck catalog last night, and noticed that RPO H5D is a Stainless Steel "header" style manifold for the 350. Looks like earlier manifolds, in that no part goes over the exhaust ports. 3 "runners" that drop down and join together. Appear to have a backwards (not straight down) facing exit on them. Haven't ever seen a pair myself, but never looked either since I had never heard of them! Still avaialble from GM supposedly, a measly $275 EACH from Gmpartsdirect.com.

GM used these in the early to mid eighties on both SBC and BBC. They seal real well, last forever and flow better than the cast manifolds. I really like these for a tow rig. I just haven't found a set for my BBC.

My engine has factory stainless steel mini-headers. They were standard equipment on '87 'vettes. I'm sure they don't flow as well as a full-on set of headers would, but they came with the engine and don't get in the way like regular headers do. [IMG] I did a bit of cleanup work at the flanges and found that stuff is HARD to grind, even with carbide burrs. [IMG]

There's a guy here locally who found a set of stainless factory headers in the jyard, picked them up, and put them on his 80's c10. He really likes them.
