I am thinking about making some stainless steel lug nuts for my own D60/14FF axles since I do not see anything on the market that suits me. I went to Pep Boys and bought two sizes (1" hex and .875" hex) both with .562-18 threads.

Would there be any interest from you guys in purchasing these if I made more than my own? Yes the price will be more than what you pay in the store for what they offer but it will decrease if there is demand for a greater quantity. Would people want open ended ao closed end style? Would you want the larger or smaller hex size? I will determine a price after I know how many people are interested. Thanks,

Have you looked at the McGard lug nuts? They're guaranteed not to rust, ever. Very high quality chrome plating. You cancheck them out at www.summitracing.com

They're not cheap, at least when compared to the Made In Taiwan brands that start to rust as soon as you open the package. But they hold up extremely well.

Not interest, curiosity though. Am I the only one that LIKES open lug nuts? Almost all of mine are open, and I've never had a problem with the factory nuts or studs rusting. Is it my location? Only ones that aren't open are the anti-theft lug nuts, one on each wheel.

As a matter of fact, I don't see any locally that are rusty. The ones on my truck now (factory ones) are still pretty shiny, almost like stainless steel. I got away from the cheap lug nuts with the "cap" on them, I couldn't stand the way the cap would get distorted, then the sockets would start to slip...if they had been machined out of one solid piece, that would be a different story.

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?

Bill, you can always count me in on your projects, that sound like a great idea. I personally would be interested in at least one set of closed end. thanks, Brian

I would be interested in the open set. Of course price is somewhat of an issue. The smaller hex size would be preferred but not critical.

What would be better, the 1" or .875"?
I would also prefer 'extra-long' nuts, too.
