Could your vacuum advance be misconnected or not connected since you put in the new carb?

Beyond that, I would explore fuel starvation (accelerator pumps working?).

I just went through this also /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif. Put on a new edelbrock and the engine would stall /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. Worked for months to find the answer... finally it appears to be: the accelerator pump. If you havent already, move the accelerator pump arm (on the RH side as you face it) up to the top hole. Then, re-time your engine. Mine needed to be advanced a little more than before I changed carbs, but not too much. That solved my stalling problem.
