Sounds like the infamous Chevy Valve Seals .... I don't own a GMC/Chevy vehicle that DOESN'T blow smoke at startup. If you want to go through the trouble, replace them. There are various techniques you can use, which I'm sure someone will speak up on...

Sounds like maybe a valve job is needed? However mine blows a little bit of that and it's fine... like it was stated I think it's just part of owning a K5....

How can I miss you if you won't go away? [IMG]

Valve guide seals. I once saw one that didn't puff a little bit of smoke...but realized it was only a dream....LOL Don't worry about it til it starts dropping birds out of the sky.

Why do people keep calling it a Bronco!!!!! [IMG]

Valve guides are bleeding down into the cylinders after you shut down and then on start up it'll smoke a tad, seen my truck do that for over 100,000 miles before I replaced the second motor.
