steering box ?

    how can i take the slop out of my steering box? Is it possible or do i need to get a new one. By the way this is on a 2wheel drive box.,

    There should be a big nut on it with an allen head adjustment screw in the center. Hold the adjustment screw and loosen the lock nut, then turn the adjustment screw about 1/4 turn at a time. This should help.
    BTW, dont forget to tighten the lock nut when youre done!

    if you try adjusting do it when the box is turned to the center of it's travel. they are made to be tightest at center (when wheels are supposed to be straight) and you may see slight play when turned either side. if you adjust it when it's off center it will be too tight at center and may bind.
