I was up underneath of my rig this morning installing some KC's on my front bumper. I looked over at my steering box and noticed a brace that is bolted about an inch in front of the steering box, and it goes across to the frame right under neath my head lights. Does this sound like a steering brace or do ya'll think it's some other kind of brace. The brace is about an inch and a half thick. Any ideas or am I just wishful thinking?

Do you have any pics? The steering brace from ORD goes behind the the steering box and attatches to the crossmember. You can't see it from the front. You would have to go underneath the truck to see it. If no pics, I'll take a look at it next weekend at the trail run.

I remember reading somewhere that some of the later 80's trucks came from the factory with a small bracelike thing. Actually I think they mentioned it on a review for the ORD brace saying you could leave it in place or remove it. Pictures would help though.

Hey guys, I don't have a digital camera....Yet....Should in about a month, and I don't have time or patience to go get filmed developed and scanned. So for now I don't have any pics. I'm gonna look at it again tonight and I'll try to figure out a way to show ya'll what I'm talking about. I just glanced at it without inspecting what it could be, have a feeling I'm jumping to conclusions [IMG].
