steering shock stabilizer ends, eye to eye, or studs ?

    when did GM use eye to eye style stabilizer steering shock ends ? it loks liek 81-87 use non-removeable stud ends and 80-older use round eye bolt ends, the 81-up tie rod stud of stabilizer is tapered press fit like a TRE stud, they didndt do this in the 70s apparently

    can you install a 80-older shock under an 81-up truck somehow ?
