I would like to order a smaller steering wheel (probably from Grant) and I was looking at diameters. Does anyone know the diameter of a stock 78 (probably the same 73-87) steering wheel? I'm assuming 15-16" but I don't have one in front of me to measure and won't for several hours. Also is that center to center or overall diameter of the wheel. Thanks in advance.

My 81 Jimmy steering wheel is 16" overall outside diameter...

Check your local laws. My buddy had a 13 inch Grant on his Sport Truck, and it wouldn't pass inspection. I had to pull my stock wheel out of storage so he could pass. I've never had mine measured, but apparently it is a real law that they have to be certain sizes for certain vehicles. Just a thought.

    Thank you Rene,
and Dieselmh I will keep that in mind for my next inspection (as well as keep my old wheel and horn internals).

    Thank you both again.
