I cracked my steering gear box in half a few weeks ago, replaced it at no cost, cool. This past few days the new box has been clunking and popping and making these horrible cracking sounds. I found the sector shaft is jumping up and down about 3/4 of an inch when I turn the wheels.(lifetime warrantees rool!) Another thing I noticed is my steering arm. I only have a 2.5" lift but it seems horribly out of whack! It looks like its costantly in a bind. Is a taller steering arm needed with a 2" lift? I'm loading pics as you read this so check back and take a look and te me what you all think!

<font color=green> how much outta whack is " horribly " ? a 2 inch lift shouldn't do something like that to your drag link. i mean, even with 8" on mine and a 4" raised steering arm,,it would still turn,,but it was binding(did it just to see). maybe a raised steering arm is what you need,,you sure all you got is 2.5" of lift ???? also,,if you run a level out from the steering box arm to where the drag link connect's to the steering arm on the axle,,measure down from there,,it will tell you how much lift of a steering arm you'll need

When I ordered it, I asked for a 2" lift, the blocks I had on their were 2.5 inches tall but the back always sagged, I've heard that when you get a lift, the size of the lift is always the minimum height, so a 2" lift will no smaller than 2 but could be 4 inches...... so maybe mine is a little bigger. My buddy has an older 4" Rancho kit and my truck is dead even with his. From front to back the drag link is about 2 inches of difference. Most I've seen are basically level. I think most of the problems I'm havibng are the steering box and the sector shaft. I think something wasn't put together right before I bought it. Gonna take it off and swap it for another.
