What tranny do you have in your K5? Why did you pick it? Does ORD carry any tranny shifters?

I am leaning towards Art Carr for the tranny and shifter, just want to know what you did. Thanks

AFAIK, SW still has an AC 700R4 + shifter.

there was another thread in this forum about whether or not ord was going to carry AC shifters or if going to the source would be the most economical alternative. Im sure a search would find the thread asap...

Wally does have a 700 R4 tranny. It is holding up quite well so far. Wally has never had anything but a 700 R4 since new in !982. Several of the early trannys went out but we began to build them ourselves and they have been fine. One had 200,000 miles on it and finally gave out to the 383. The current tranny was built in 1991 and has held up to the 383 and 468 so far. The Art Car tranny had some problems but mainly due to the untested reverse manual valve body at Top truck in 2001. So out it came and in went the old reiliable self built with a B@M shift kit.

    Ahhhh....cool! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I kind of figured miniwally was someone associated with SW as the mentioning of the 700R4, etc. Just didn't realize it was his brother. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Miniwally would be big wally minus 1200# and about 250HP. And with a little better rear weight bias.
Or my brother who has physical characteristics very similar to me.
