Stephen--?? about your axle and steering

    Why did you choose the driver side dif on you Tera 60? Did it have advantages over the passenger side? I love the way you have your steering, I'd like to see some close up pics that show some details. Great lay-out in Four Wheelers TTC !!

    Basically, the left side diff was to get a little more clearance for the driveshaft around the transmission. The TH700 kicks out about 2" on the right side and we decided to go on the left so there would be more space.
    It also made it easier to rotate the 203 and 205 since we could use a GM 203 twisted 90 degrees on the it's existing bolt holes, then use the ford 205 rotated up. That left all the shifters on the top of the cases where they were easy to get to and won't leak.

    I've got some close up pics, and can take some more to show how it lays out. Basically, the tire was going to hit the box on the outside of the frame, and the shaft was going to be a real pain to route if it was on the inside of the frame, so we put it in the right front corner and it worked pretty well. Routing everything was pretty easy and it steers great no matter what's going on.

  2. That makes alot of sense. Gets everything tucked up high and out of the way. The steering looks very functional. How did you run the actual shaft to the gear box since it is on the oposite side? I'd love to see some pics of it.

    The steering shaft actually snakes alongside the header, through the frame rail, through a HUGE heim joint on an intermediate shaft, to the ujoint on the input to the box. It worked out quite a bit simpler than it sounds. Routing that shaft is one of the main reasons the box ended up over there. It's a little strung out, but the shaft routing was pretty clean and easy. Never thought I'd have to trim the fan shroud for steering box clearance! Actually it's just the fittings that stuck up a little.
