Is anyone else having a problem with the "new" markers for stuff that you haven't read? Mine suddenly aren't getting cleared unless I completely log out of the forum, but then ALL of them are gone. [IMG] I don't think the problem is on my end, since it behaves the same from two different computers, connecting through two different networks.

Steve, is something messed up on the server?

I just tested this and it is working fine for me. After returning to the forum I did a refresh and my read marks were correct. Just thought I'd offer my assistance.

Are you using your back button after reading a post? I get different results, depending how I get to the list. If I "back", I get the same markes I just left. If I link back to it, I get updated markers.

I can even reload the screen and it doesn't update. [IMG] It worked fine up until last Friday. I thought maybe I had a cookie file corrupt on this system, but then it did the same thing on my system at home. [IMG]

Even after posting the last reply, I see every post in this thread as marked with the "new" label, except for the post by newyorkin, which was the post I replied to. Bizarre... [IMG]

When I first log onto the message boards it'll be all blank as to what's new since I was last here. Then if I go into a forum and then click the link to go to the whole list of forums it'll then tell me what all is new.... it's weird. I have just learned to ignore it even though it bugs me! ChevyCaGal, when you come to boards, you are not logged in, that's why it's all blank where it usually says the number of new posts since your last visit. If you click on log in, or one of the forums, it automatically logs you in.

I'm always logged in... I have a cookie so it never have to enter my password it's saved.... it's weird, hard to explain. It's like a clitch. Not a big one or even one that matters. Just thought it was funny and annoying even though nobody else would even notice it.....

I was always logged in when I came, until the boards went down for a week. Now I gotta click on log in, and I'm in. Don't have to enter my username or password...

I typically use IE 5, but I've tried it in Netscape 4.75 and get the same behavior. [IMG]

OK, lets try the OS - 98 or 2000?
I think there is a post in 'feedback' that I'll check that was like this....

Here is an answer - not a good one tho. Rocko knows computers but theres gotta be something less drastic.

Work sys is running Win2K, home sys is Win98. That's just another reason why I think the problem is at the server end. Network access is totally different from the 2 systems as well. [IMG] It worked fine from both locations until last Friday.

    Hopefully Steve will help!

But how come it fixed Rocko's problem? Something to do with client recognition maybe.....
