    Steve\'s Bumper Trouble

I am still relatively new to the site but am completely addicted. I really would like to know if there was ever any resolution to Steve's bumper trouble. I understand that he is very busy right now but I thought someone else might know. I would like to purchase a good bumper/carrier combo before my lift and bigger tires. Any help would be great!!

P.S. Ilearn more about my truck everyday here!

I received the rear bumper last week after waiting 9 weeks, I plan on changing a few things to it before I put it on, if I had to do it over again I would just draw up some plans and take to a good welder.

Any idea on how much it might be? I have a friend who can actually draw what I want on CAD, I'm just concerned about the finished product looking nice enough to be hung on my daily driver. Any response would be welcome. THANK YOU!!!

Any good fabricator/welder should have no problem building a bumper for you. If you have a good drawing and know exactly what you want that helps. I built my own bumpers front and rear, with a rear swing away bumper mounted tire carrier. It took me about 7 hours for both. It cost me $40.00 out of pocket and a little of my time (after work of course). Like anything the final prep done on the finished (previous to paint) product will determine the overall appearance of quality.
I've seen too many chunks of scrap welded on to the front of trucks and called custom fabbed.

    Steve,
You said before that he didn't use the advertised thickness for the steel on the original one. Did he use the correct thickness this time?
