What could be causing this? I stopped at a buddy's house and checked the linkage and all after it tached out when I went to shift between third and fourth. Couldn't recreate the problem manually operating the throttle. I'm used to the little bit of residual power TBI creates when you let off the gas, my 95 had it so does the burb but this is plain on stuck throttle. It happened again when I left his house between second and third this time. Maybe throttle shaft bushings? I don't think its a linkage bind. It just stops on its own, I don't even have a chance to kick the gas to stop it.

That, or throttle cable sticking in the housing.

Check your throttle cable. A strand may have broken and is binding inside the cable housing.
