Did GM only make one diameter roll bar? Mine is like 2-2-1/2" diameter. I saw one today in a '71 that was like 5 or 6" diameter - is this a stock roll bar or aftermarket?

There were a couple of different roll bars that were factory-installed, from what I've been told. One was a dual hoop arrangement with 1-7/8" tubing (that's what is in mine) and another was a single hoop arrangement with (I think) 1-7/8" tubes. NOBODY makes a 5" or 6" OD tube bar. What you likely saw was a bar with padding installed. My hunting buddy has a Smittybilt roll bar in his Blazer and he went to a race shop for offset roll bar padding. That padding is about 5" OD...
