    Stock roller cam on a \'91 350?

    Hey guys,
A friend of mine insists that my '91's 350 came with a roller camshaft setup from the factory. I can't find much info to confirm or deny this, so I was wondering if one of you can shed some light on this for me. I did see a rebuild kit for a '91 350 truck motor that said "not for roller cam". Was it a option, or was this just for high perf car motors?

Negative, the TBI truck motors came with hydraulic flat tappet cam shafts. In '91 only the TPI(vette and camaro) came with roller cams.

Your friend is wrong, it is a flat tappet.

TPI's came with roller cams and tbi came with flat tappets. So he is half right.

Also, to add insult to injury, the 350 in trucks were 2 bolt mains! Except for the bigger trucks, which had 4 bolters and steel cranks, but I believe only in trucks bigger than one ton.

Not true, from '87 on 3/4 ton and up had 4 bolt main blocks. Cast or steel crank depended on the transmission behind it usually but not always true.
